To close Rail Wellbeing Live 2020 we welcomed back John Halsall, Chair of the Rail Wellbeing Alliance. John reflected on the event and what’s next for the industry.
The session focuses on mental wellbeing, and we welcomed Rob Stephenson to talk about how we can ‘lead on the mental health agenda’. In this session Rob shares details of his personal story of living and working with bipolar and his inspiration for the InsideOut LeaderBoard which showcases senior workplace leaders who are open about their mental health challenges. Rob shares some inspirational case studies from the LeaderBoard and considers the power of role models in transforming workplace cultures. Rob also gives an insight into what an effective mental health and wellbeing strategy looks like and provides some tips on caring for employee mental health during these challenging times.
To finish John spoke with Mick Cash who shared his deeply personal experience of mental health. Mick recently suffered from a sudden and debilitating ‘meltdown’ forcing him to take time off work. Here Mick talks publicly for the first time to tell his story. Mick shares some advice on how we can look after our mental wellbeing and hopes by sharing his experiences he can help others. Mick also reflects on the industry journey on wellbeing.
